Master Mariners (Staff, Contract or Freelance)

Global Maritime South East Asia requires ambitious and reliable mariners to further enhance our marine operations team.
The role entails a mix of time in office, at site and offshore working on regional oil & gas energy projects.

Job Description
You will partake in a variety of technical and procedural reviews, marine study reports covering marine and offshore projects as well as site attendances.

Subject areas include:
Transportation and installation of offshore structures.
Vessels, barges and site inspections/audits and reporting.
Site and offshore work includes supervision and approval of marine operations.

Client’s representative or MWS during offshore installation works.
Provision of Tow Master services.
Generating and review of offshore marine procedures for towing and installation.
MWS attendances during rigmoves of Jack-up units and Semi-Submersible units.
Participation in Risk Assessments, HIRA’s, HAZOP’s/HAZID’s.
Experience with PI surveys, H&M surveys, marine claims and legal disputes is an advantage.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
The suitable candidate should have a broad spectrum of experience of the identified marine works and will be capable of producing high quality documentation in the form of technical reports.

Further qualifications/experience:
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software package.
Onshore (marine management) experience is also an advantage.
You must be a good communicator, with particular skills in technical reporting, and able to work within a small team as well as independently.



Person Specification
Master Mariner (preferably) with STCW Class 1 certification.
Command experience and (preferably) more ten years’ experience in the offshore oil, gas industries.
Anchor handling and/or rig moving, tow and/or supply preferable.
Pipelay and subsea installation experience.
Other relevant offshore experience
